Let’s sail together 2013 mit Emek Barış in studio!

Interviewer: Albert Guziak (Kompass)

Guest: Emek Barış Küçüktabak (Turkey,GSM)

Albert Guziak: It’s been already some time passed after the Let’s Sail Together project… Let us sail back to that time. What are your spontaneous memories and images about it?

Barış Küçüktabak: Flunky ball, getting drunk, being like a family, dance, pulling ropes, irish pub in Denmark, working 8 hours each day while sailing and loving it, great beach, making fire at the beach, swimming at night.

Albert Guziak: Did you have any expectations before coming to the project? If yes, what were they? Were they also fulfilled?

Barış Küçüktabak: My expectation before coming to Kiel was just enjoying a lot, and meeting with great people. It is fulfilled 100%.

Albert Guziak: Do you find the knowledge about cradle to cradle useful? Is it needed to deal with such issues at all?

Barış Küçüktabak: It was a new topic for me, but it was useful. It would be better if more people can learn something about this topic.

Albert Guziak: What was like for you to sail, sleep, work and generally live on the boat? Did you have fun?

Barış Küçüktabak: Sometimes work was challenging, and I was swearing while waking up :D But it was a really good experience and I had a lot fun.

Albert Guziak: Do you think that the multinational communication and working together on board was smooth? Did you have any difficulties with it?

Barış Küçüktabak: Yes, it was quite good. Everybody was speaking English in a good level, so it makes it easier to communicate. I did not have any diffucilties.

Albert Guziak: Would you be able to stay longer on the ship?

Barış Küçüktabak: Last 3-4 hours while we weren’t working was so great for me. I think 1 week working is enough, but it could be maybe 1 more day with no working.

Albert Guziak: Did you come with some stereotypes about other countries? If yes, did you confirm, change or reject them?

Barış Küçüktabak: I confirm the stereotype that polish people are really professional at drinking. I learned Estonia is not a city of Russia :P

Albert Guziak: What did you do during your free time?

Barış Küçüktabak: See: answer 1,+ chatting, playing ping pong, volleyball, swimming, playing cards, listening music.

Albert Guziak: Did your ideas about Europe change after the project? Did you think about it at all?

Barış Küçüktabak: No, it didn’t change. I am still thinking positive about Europe.

Albert Guziak: Would you fancy the idea of Let’s sail together 2014 for you?

Barış Küçüktabak: Yeah, why not ?

Thanks a lot – I wish you fantastic future projects!
