10 weeks of European Voluntary Service!

I am in my 10th week of my Voluntary Service in Rostock, Germany. Pleasant and productive 10 weeks! Throughout my European voluntary service, I`m allowed to attend two seminars with volunteers currently located all over Germany. First one, ESC on Arrival Training conducted online via Zoom due to the current situation with Covid-19.  It was very interesting even though it was online. 16 young people from different countries. We were accompanied through the week by two trainers. We had the chance to talk about our projects, challenges, goals and ask questions. Also, we shared with each other what actually has changed since we arrived here and what we’ve learned.

I had time to think about it. What actually has changed in 10 weeks?

First thing is that I have become more independent. I learned to live my life more planned and to do everything on my own. My perspective has changed. Maybe it`s not a big deal for others but it means a lot to me. I`ve started to learn some things, I wasn`t even aware that I really needed to learn that. Like learning cycling.. I discovered myself and understood what I want to do in my future life. Also, I realized that no matter where we come from in the world, what separates us are not our languages but only our thoughts.

I still have a long time here. I hope I can enrich somebody`s lives and to keep having experiences and adventures.  I don`t know where life will bring me after my project, but I know I always have a place to have a coffee with nice people.

Thanks Kompass e.V. and Rostock for all the beauties you provided me!
